Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend in observance of Memorial Day.
The ceremony will include an introductory presentation, Invocation, Presentation of Colors, the National Anthem, and guest speakers including: Monroe County Mayor Sylvia Murphy, Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay, and Village of Islamorada Mayor Deb Gillis, a presentation by the American Legion Post 145, a presentation by the Daughters of the American Revolution, a brief history of the Hurricane Monument, the laying of the memorial wreath, Taps, Some Gave All, and God Bless the USA sung by Country Western recording artist Dan Furmanik, followed by the benediction.
