NOVEMBER IS MANATEE AWARENESS MONTH
As proclaimed by the Florida Governor. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission states that when water temperatures drop, manatees move to warmer refuges such as canals, outflows from power plants and freshwater springs. These gentle “sea cows” are no match for speeders and boat propellers. Officials stress the importance of following speed restrictions in manage protection zones.
